Programmes aligned to the SA Heritage, Promotion and Preservation Programme (HPPP)

Lerato La MoAfrika (LEMA) has conceptualised programmes that are aligned
to the SA Heritage, Promotion, and Preservation Programme (HPPP)

These programmes aim to transform and develop the arts, culture, and heritage
(ACH) sector in South Africa. The programmes focus on several key areas:

Sector Transformation and Development: Driving policy and planning
coherence to achieve sectoral development outcomes.

Social Cohesion and Nation Building: Implementing effective social cohesion
programmes and promoting multilingualism to foster nation-building and societal
transformation.

Arts, Culture, and Heritage Promotion: Protecting, preserving, promoting, and
developing the ACH sector to advance socio-economic inclusivity and
contribution.

Governance and Modernisation: Ensuring sound governance and modernising
the ACH sector for effective utilisation and leveraging of resources.

Capacity Building: Building skills and capacity within the ACH sector to ensure
ongoing development and responsiveness.

The programme includes various initiatives such as the LEMAEd Home Schooling
platform, The development of LEMALit online literature library, and the LEMA ACH
Awards (Afrinaissance).

LEMA is committed to empowering young people through sports, arts, and cultural
initiatives. Our organisation was founded to address the inequalities that have long
denied many young South Africans opportunities to thrive. It also focuses on sports
development, community health and well-being, environmental protection, and
economic transformation through these programmes:

Sports infrastructure development: The objective of the sub-programme is to
develop sports facilities in schools located in underserved communities around
South Africa. By investing in sports infrastructure, offering diverse recreational
opportunities, and fostering a sense of belonging through youth sports leagues,
LEMA will create a positive and inclusive environment for the community.

School Sports Sponsorships: sub-programme is designed to raise funds for
sponsoring learners who excel in both academia and sports. The objective is to
provide financial support to high-achieving students, enabling them to pursue
their academic and athletic goals without financial constraints. This initiative aims
to recognise and reward students' hard work and dedication, encouraging them to

continue excelling in both areas. By investing in these talented individuals, the
programme seeks to foster a culture of excellence and create opportunities for
future leaders in sports and academics.

Organise recreational activities: Offer a diverse array of recreational activities
such as fitness classes, summer camps, sports clinics, and school tournaments
to engage youth in targeted communities.
Establish youth sports leagues: Create structured youth sports leagues that
emphasise skill development, fair play, and character building, enabling children
and teenagers to participate and excel in various sports.
