OUR STORY

The power of our cultural, heritage and sport development for the youth in previously disadvantaged communities has long been undervalued in society. Lerato La MoAfrika believes that heritage preservation and sports development for the youth is imperative for the development of society.

Founded in 2021 Lerato La MoAfrika is non-profit company which aims to redress the inequalities of the past, where previously disadvantaged communities didn’t have access to sport and recreation as a basic human right. Inspired by “The Heritage Cycle by Simon Thurley, “The Heritage Cycle” outlines an integral piece of cultural heritage and it drives the point that heritage must be understood, valued cared for, and enjoyed in order to be shared and people thirsting for it.

LLM A Programmed are aligned to the SA Heritage, Promotion and Preservation Programmed (HPPP) in pursuing its Sports, Arts, Culture and Heritage (SACH) development mandate

WHAT WE DO

ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE

Over time, it has been affirmed that heritage does not belong to the present generation and that it should go to future generations to be preserved and cherished by them so that they can do the same for those that will follow them How:

SOUTH AFRICAN LITERATURE

South Africa has eleven official languages which include English, Afrikaans and nine other African languages: isiNdebele, isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sesotho, Sepedi, Setswana, SiSwati, Tshivenda and Xitsonga. The languages that are most published, however, are English and Afrikaans, with South Africa’s indigenous1languages — even the official languages — lagging far behind in the production of literature. How:

YOUTH SPORT DEVELOPMENT

Early talent identification & development has become increasingly important within the context of youth sports structures & programmes We use sports development as a vehicle of learning and providing youth from previously disadvantaged communities to have the opportunity to be introduced to sport, improve their wealth and have a fair chance of turning it into a career
